Ukraine's Nightspell return with their second release for the year - Darkwoods Enchantment
Opening title track Darkwoods Enchantment is a furious interweaving of intent laden with its raw and visceral delivery underpinned with a cold bleak aesthetic, as does the follow-up King of the Cave. However, there is a noticeable level of emotive technicality behind it with sweeping tempo changes.
For me, the EP's crowning glory is Witches Sabbath. It contains some great elements with a progressive leap from Nightspell's demo Forgotten Victims of the Ashen Soul, which contained more dungeon synth components.
The release concludes in its ferocity with Mystical Shadows which is in keeping with the overall soundscape of the EP
With their consecutive releases, Nightspell have only improved with each one and I am already greatly anticipating the next offering.
