Nil & Castle of the Winds team up to form an unholy alliance for a brand new split EP entitled Bastard Sons of Tyranny  which tells the story of the 16th Century Red Bandit's brutal exploits, their capture and execution, and the bloody revenge that was ultimately inflicted upon their captors.

Starting off proceedings with the first three Tracks are Liverpool's Nil who on opening track Crucified Tyrant which delivers a fierce cascade of soundscapes, there is also an abundance of  cold bleak atmospherics, this is followed up by the piano laden interlude Stillness

This section concludes with  The Stonebreaker which has a savage, yet sweeping aesthetic. Everything is constructed really well and delivers the narrative through some nicely crafted musicianship.

Up next is the turn of Castle of the Winds who came to the attention of ACT with their debut release Until Segontium Burns

There is an immediate wave of  Nostalgia with the presentation and delivery on For Villainy and Bloodshed, the vocal delivery and elements placed throughout are hugely appealing and captivating in equal measure.

The Gallows Wall concludes the split with a real showcasing of Black Metal that also has some subtle Roland Synth touches which I doubt no one ever will complain about! it's a great piece and really fits in the aesthetic of the release.

A great pairing of styles that complement effortlessly
