Overlords of lore Ghul return a blistering bleak new release for third full length release Rhiw
Ya Hrive Tene is effectively one track divided over six parts, Rhiw very much contains the dissonant and atmospheric soundscapes that have prominent from the bands early conception with the narrative of the Sindarin name for winter being very much at the forefront both musically and aesthetically.
The timescales for each parts work well individually allowing the creative arc to flow with tones of woefulness alongside an unbridled rawness and as a collective really encapsulates the artistic delivery that Ghul just naturally fall into, although again with each release their is an undyeable element of musical maturity.
The combination of parts III & IV are Rhiw's crowning glory with the first using its instrumental elements of varying soundscapes to compliment the obliteration that follows really showcases how well an influence can be used to its full potential.
Overall, Ghul have demonstrated how UK Black Metal is very much a forefront right now and that doesn't look like it will be dissipating anytime soon.
